After having two kids, Allison tried several gyms and decided that she wanted to try CrossFit. After seeing other friends and family members loving the results and the camaraderie of CrossFit she join CrossFit gym in 2015 and instantly fell in love with it.
Not only did she see results, it has been a part of her family life ever since. It has changed the way she has viewed working out, her body image and the way she eats.
In 2021, Allison and Wes purchased Fuel Fitness/Fuel for Life CrossFit from Dan and Vicky Welch. Allison was a Special Education teacher, and decided to stop teaching and run Fuel Fitness full time and has been going strong since!
Hi, I'm Wes. I'm a Yuma native and have been doing CrossFit since 2015. The reason I enjoy CrossFit is I’m not alone working out and the sense of the CrossFit community keeps me motivate. We really are a family! My favorite CrossFit cardio exercise is rowing and my favorite lift is a toss up between a front squat and clean and jerk.
Born and raised in Yuma, Arizona, Rachell played sports as a young child. In high school Rachell played volleyball and softball. Rachell and her 14-year-old son Aj, enjoy playing sports and working out together. She recently graduated with her master's degree in Educational Administration, and currently teaches Special Education.
After joining Fuel in 2019, Rachell became addicted to CrossFit and our community. Through consistent exercise and proper nutrition choices, she went from a size 22 to a size 8, losing over 100 lbs. Since falling in love with all that CrossFit is and offers, Rachell began coaching. She loves helping people achieve their goals and exceed their own expectations.
Coach Zach is an Active Duty Marine who started CrossFit in 2018. He came from a powerlifting background and was looking for a more functional approach to fitness. He said, “The community of CrossFit was something I enjoyed almost immediately!” Zach has been coaching off and on for 3 years now. His favorite movements are the Assault Bike, Wall Balls, and Burpees. Outside of CrossFit he enjoys building/ shooting guns and relaxing at home with his dogs.
I am a Yuma native and a U.S. Army vet. I started attending CrossFit classes in 2016 and instantly fell in love with the concept of group workouts. I loved it so much I worked toward and earned my CrossFit level one certificate in 2018. Through the turbulence caused from the COVID pandemic and loss in my family, I began struggling with depression. In 2023 I restarted my CrossFit journey at Fuel Fitness where I was welcomed with open arms to a community rich with positivity. CrossFit helps me both physically and mentally. Take it from me, it’s never too late to start, or start over.
Hi, I am Hannah! I am an athletic trainer and sports medicine teacher at Cibola High School. I started CrossFit with my dad back in 2012, however I was pulled away from CrossFit and working out all together when an abusive relationship isolated me from all forms of community. After I finally left that relationship, I felt so discouraged with my fitness (or lack thereof) and knew I couldn’t jump right back into CrossFit at the same intensity I had previously enjoyed. I found Fuel Fitness’s 4 week Bootcamp and knew that was a great place for me to start physically. And on my first day of bootcamp with Rachell and Alli, I knew that Fuel was where I was meant to be to regain a sense of community! Finishing the Bootcamp, transitioning back to CrossFit, and even bringing my mom to the Body Burn classes has been so fun and has been just what my mind and body has needed! I have been a member of Fuel since the spring of 2022 and am now excited to be coaching! I love anything with a barbell, especially front squats, and I also love workouts with the echo bike! Outside of CrossFit, you can find me working late nights with my high school athletes during their practices and games as their athletic trainer. Keeping people safe, healthy, and coming alongside them as they reach their full potential is my favorite thing about my job as a teacher, athletic trainer, and now a coach at Fuel!
